WHAT IS TEMPERED GLASS?

Tempering is a thermal process of heating glass to melting point and then rapidly cooling it. This causes the outer surface of the glass to cool and shrink faster than the inside of the wall, creating a taut surface. Making for a much stronger product.

WHAT IS ITS HARDNESS?

Tempered glass can be up to 5 times more resistant to mechanical shocks, making it a cost-effective choice.

ARE ALL ITEMS TEMPERED?

All items are fully tempered. Not all manufacturers temper to the same standards.

IS TEMPERED GLASS MORE RESISTANT TO TEMPERATURE CHANGES?

Tempered glass items are resistant to temperature changes of 130ºC. It is tested by immersing an item at 130ºC in cold water. The glass does not break or crack.

IS TEMPERED GLASS SAFEST?

In case of breakage, the glass fragments into smaller, less sharp pieces, avoiding danger to customers. Suitable for food use.
