Porron 1L Spain
1L glass jug engraved with the Spanish flag. Inc a cork stopper. Wash-resistant.
1L porrón with cork stopper There are several origins attributed to the porrón. Some believe that the porrones come from bird-shaped vessels of Gallic origin, while others think that they may have their origin in the horns from which the Romans drank. They filled them from the top and drank from the thin side, plugging them with their finger when they didn't want any more, a somewhat uncomfortable method that, although it was perfected with a stopper at the bottom, did not end up lasting. It is believed that the porrón may be the product of the fusion of the bottle and that ancient drinking horn. As we know the porrón of wine today, we know that it is very old and the name is already included in the RAE edition of 1737. Together with botijos and boots, it makes up the most traditional ways of drinking in the different areas of Spain. Dishwasher safe. Estimated delivery time 2 business days
